Ambergris Caye

Ambergris Caye is the largest of several hundred islands, located in the northern most waters of Belize. The beaches are mostly shells, so you will need foot gear. You will many piers, where you can rent a boat for diving, deep-sea fishing, or sailboating to the other islands. If you're staying for a couple of days, make sure to snorkel or dive the spectacular reef, it is the largest in the Western hemisphere. The best places to eat are Papi's on Front Street, which serves great, local, inexpensive food, and Casa Picasa at the southwest part of town.
