La Ceiba is located on the north Caribbean coast of Honduras, and is the 3rd largest city of the country. Even though it is not a great tourist city, it is a good starting pointo to visit Pico Bonito National Park, the Cuero and Salado Wildlife Refuge or beaches and ethnic Garífuna villages nearby. One big attraction of this city is La Ceiba Carnival, one of the biggest in Central America, and takes place on the 3rd Saturday in May.
