Laguna de Atitlán

The Laguna de Atitlán or Lake Atitlán is located in the Western Highlands of Guatemala, and it is an incredibly beautiful volcanic lake surrounded by small towns. The whole area is a great combination of scenic beauty, a relaxed atmosphere, with very good tourist infrastructure and the touch of Maya culture. The Tolimán volcano is 3158m, and the lake is at 1560 m of altitude, making it a perfect spot for a weekend visit, or even better, a whole week!
