Flores

Flores_2 Flores is a very small town in Petén, Guatemala, located on an island in the lake Lago Petén Itzá, connects to land by a causeway. It is a popular starting point for Petén tours and specially for being close to Tikal, the Mayan ruins. Peaceful and quiet, a very safe town, you can explore the whole island by foot in around 15 minutes. Small, but with interesting sights, pay a visit to Ak'tun Kan, the serpent's cave, with rock formations resembling different objects and with stalagmites and stalactites.

Laguna de Atitlán

Lakeatitlan The Laguna de Atitlán or Lake Atitlán is located in the Western Highlands of Guatemala, and it is an incredibly beautiful volcanic lake surrounded by small towns. The whole area is a great combination of scenic beauty, a relaxed atmosphere, with very good tourist infrastructure and the touch of Maya culture. The Tolimán volcano is 3158m, and the lake is at 1560 m of altitude, making it a perfect spot for a weekend visit, or even better, a whole week!
