San Salvador

The  capital of El Salvador is situated on the Ace Chaute River, in the central part of the country; near San Salvador Volcano.Elsavador2

Since the Spanish established themselves there in 1528, San Salvador has been hit by several earthquakes and the community suffered during the civil war in the 1980s.

The destroyed colonial buildings have been replaced by modern buildings and plazas.

Lake Ilopango and the port city of La Libertad are nearby.
